Daytime running light out, dim, flickering or only half working? We repair DRL and LED headlight faults at our workshop in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. A failed DRL is an NCT failure item and it is often mistaken for a whole headlight failure. In most cases the headlight unit does not need replacing. The fault is usually a failed LED strip, a burnt DRL chip, a dry solder joint on the internal board, or a wiring or connector fault. What we do: we open the headlight, diagnose the actual fault, and repair at component level where possible - replacing DRL tubes and LED chips, repairing the internal board, and resealing the unit afterwards. That is normally a fraction of the cost of a new headlight assembly, which on many modern cars runs well into four figures. We work on most makes, including BMW, Audi, Mercedes, Volkswagen and Ford. If a headlight has already been opened or badly repaired before, we can usually still put it right. Price: from 250 euro, depending on the fault and the vehicle.
