Cloudy, foggy or yellowed headlights? We restore them to a clear finish in about an hour at our workshop in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15. 100 euro. Headlight lenses are plastic, and Irish weather is hard on them. UV light and road grit break down the factory coating, the surface oxidises, and the light output drops long before you notice it at the wheel. Badly clouded headlights are also an NCT failure item. What we do: we clean and mask the unit, wet-sand the lens through progressive grades to remove the oxidised layer and light scratching, machine-polish it back to clarity, then apply a UV-resistant sealant. That last step is what separates a proper restoration from a quick polish - without it the lens will yellow again within months. This is the right service for lenses that are cloudy, yellowed or lightly scratched. If there is moisture inside the unit, a cracked housing or a failed DRL, that is a different job and we will tell you before you book. Price: 100 euro. Time: about 1 hour.
